Macintosh Technical Support

Used the Mac as the main tool of my graphic design profession since 1988.

Maintained mixed-platform Mac/PC computer labs and classrooms.

Served as software and Mac support technician for the design and editorial staff of Lonely Planet Publications in Oakland, California.

Website Design, Flash, HTML, and CSS

Created annieandthebeekeepers.com, a music-group website, which integrates live XML feeds from Twitter and ArtistData.com and allows the client to post immediate updates to their news page and tour dates page. Installed a customized music player for the site. Integrated Paypal for merchandise sales.

Created CheshireNC.com and produced all sample photos and video media on the site.

Created the new website for Monadnock Aikikai. which utilizes Flash and video.

Maintained and updated the San Francisco Estuary Institute's website at www.sfei.org. The SFEI site holds largely to the web standards of the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium).

Designed and coded the website you are viewing as well as my other site at www.find-balance.com.

Copyediting

Completed coursework in copyediting at Media Alliance in San Francisco.

Hold a BA in English from the Ohio State University.

Teaching

Taught semester-long courses in the Graphic Communications Department at City College of San Francisco. Course topics consisted of image scanning, image color/tonal correction, and page layout with QuarkXPress.

Taught aikido (a Japanese martial art) at San Francisco Aikikai, where I was a member for 12 years. I hold the rank of first-degree black belt as registered at the World Aikido Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.

Letterpress Printing

Studied under Kathleen Walkup and Julie Chen at Mills College, where I was a teaching assistant in the Mills College Book Arts Program for one semester.

Video

Posess basic but creative video editing skills. You may view a sample at the link here.

Photography

Skilled with SLR cameras, both film and digital.

Posess a high level of skill and a good eye for image correction and retouching with Adobe Photoshop.

German Language

Conversational ability. My parents are both native speakers, and I grew up with the language.
